Buyer

Summary:

Controlled Power Company is seeking an experienced Buyer to procure, source, and schedule timely deliveries of inventoried raw materials required for the manufacturing activities within the company; adhering to the associated budgets and plans.

Essential Functions / Core Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between Controlled Power Company and its suppliers; and collaborate with other departments as needed to resolve procurement-related problems
  • Complete purchase requests with suppliers by entering purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and verifying all transactions
  • Initiate and manage correspondence related to over-shipments and delivery shortages, as well as changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices; and communicating all such changes to all necessary parties in a timely manner
  • Issue RFQ’s (requests for quotation) and select the best source consistent with cost, quality, and delivery requirements
  • Maintain accuracy of stock code information within the company’s CRM software; including lead-time, pricing, current supplier information, current purchase order data, etc
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels, consistent with targeted inventory goals set by management
  • Process non-conforming material requests and RMA (return materials authorization) requests with supply chain partners
  • Support operations as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High degree of initiative to be able to respond consistently in the resolution of issues and complex problems that may arise
  • Ability to secure and review quotations from suppliers and negotiate prices, as well as recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery completeness
  • Accuracy and thoroughness required for the preparation of purchase orders and other agreements
  • Review acknowledgments for purchase orders, with the ability to resolve discrepancies with the supplier to the best possible advantage for Controlled Power Company
  • Take the initiative to follow-up with and/or expedite purchase orders needed to meet manufacturing and delivery schedules
  • Ability to multi-task with minimal direction or supervision to accomplish tasks and complete work in a timely manner
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others
  • People-management experience is a plus
  • High school graduate, or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management is a plus
  • 3 – 5 years professional work experience in the above criteria

Engineering Detailer

Summary:

Controlled Power Company is looking for an innovative and hardworking individual to help make the Engineering team more productive, efficient, and robust.  As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to express ideas and grow your knowledge of design and manufacturing.  Primary responsibilities will be 3D modeling and print detailing, as well as product design.

Responsibilities:

  • 3D modeling and 2D CAD design (e.g., sheet metal, system assemblies, wiring diagrams)
  • Revise and update engineering documents
  • Development of new product design and existing product customization
  • Enter engineering change notices, and complete other engineering documentation tasks as required

Abilities:

  • Produce accurate, well laid-out drawings, models, and assemblies
  • Ability to organize all facets of detailing
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Reliable and flexible, with a strong desire to learn and grow

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, Technical Design, or Drafting
  • College internship(s) and/or 1+ year professional work experience in the above criteria
  • SolidWorks experience (SW Professional Certification or higher, or job experience) is a must; experience with electronics or electrical systems is a plus

Metal Fabrication

Summary:

Controlled Power Company is seeking to fill two (2) Metal Fabrication positions in our manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, as well as interpret measurements
  • Fabricate and assemble metal products
  • Operate equipment, including but not limited to press brakes, shears, and cutting tables

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in steel fabrication and welding field preferred, or the ability to demonstrate proficiency is a plus
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow technical specifications
  • Ability to work with hands (often doing repetitive motions), regularly able to move / lift up to 100 lbs of sheet steel, and stand for long periods of time (steel-toed shoes required)
  • Willing to train the right individuals with eagerness to learn and grow
  • High school graduate, or equivalent
  • Successfully pass a written tool test, grade of 80% minimum
