![]() |
Description The Commercial Power Purifier (Series 800A) is a self-regulating, constant voltage transformer. It provides isolation and protects against fluctuating voltage, brownouts, line noise and short duration power outages. Because of the Commercial Power Purifier's power conditioning properties it also attenuates voltage spikes as well as reducing harmonic input current to less than 9% THD. The Commercial Power Purifier comes in a NEMA1 enclosure and is ideal for most commercial and medical power quality problems. Single Phase Sizes: 500VA, 700VA, 850VA, 1.0kVA, 1.6kVA, 2.1kVA, 2.5kVA, 3.5kVA, 3.5kVA, 5.0kVA, 7.5kVA, 10kVA, 15kVA Features & Benefits Technical Specs Applications FAQ |

FAQ
No. Although it has been around for over 40 years its reliability and performance has not been surpassed by any other technology. Ferro-resonant technology offers trouble free, clean regulated power with a life expectancy of over 20 years. No. There are different design approaches that change the overall performance and efficiencies. Controlled Power uses the most conservative designs, providing the widest operation range and the greatest efficiency. This depends upon the design. Some manufacturers design the transformers such that the load current is an integral part of the operation to conserve copper. The Power Purifier operates from 0 to 100% load while maintaining its tight regulation and without overheating. Preloading is not required. Yes, the Commerical Power Purifier will operate in a short circuit condition as long as there is UL required overcurrent protection. Can’t answer for all, but the Power Purifier holds it’s efficiency in high regard. The typical Controlled Power Purifier is 90 to 92% efficient. Yes! The transformer is constructed with high grade silicon steel and electrical grade copper. The vacuum impregnation process assures mechanical stability and with the low component count 200,000 hours is easily obtained. Variable Range Regulation. This unique feature extends the input operating range to near -40% of nominal. That equates to 72 volts input on a 120 volt nominal with regulated AC sinewave output. Yes. The Power Purifier corrects power factor at the input and improves it for the load as well. The filtering properties of the conditioner on the output reduces reflected harmonics to typically 10% or less at the input. Yes. If a short circuit occurs on the output of the Commercial Power Purifer, the unit will current limit, without damaging the unit, until the fault has cleared. In such a situation, when properly installed,UL required overcurrent protection devices will protect the operator from harm. |
